Who am I?
I’m Petra, a nutritionist with a passion for making good tasty nutritious food.
I’ve always loved cooking food, and as I got older, I became more interested in how the food actually affects the body, so I decided to go to university and learn more and gained a bachelors degree in Nutrition.
What you eat is very important, as you are what you eat! Your body consist of protein, fats, carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals and water. Every thing you eat will be broken down to smaller particles, and these particles will build your body, and the cells in the body are constantly renewing themselves. Hence it’s important to give your body the right buildning blocks so it can function to its best and to keep it healthy and strong.
Why is this blog called Nutritionist meets Chef?
The name nutritionist meets chef stems from my side kick and my lovely partner being a chef. So what’s going on on this page is what happens when a nutritionist meets chef. I’ve always had an interest in food and eating healthy, but the Chef really opened a new world to me. He introduced me to so many new foods, he taught me how to cook and to really appreciate fresh food. His cooking and passion for food throughout the years we’ve been together have really inspired me when it comes to cooking and keeps doing so.
What I eat
I’m very balanced when it comes to food. I don’t follow any labels or any dietary rules. Some days I eat mainly plants, other days I eat dairy, some days I don’t. I believe that you should include as much nutritious food in your diet instead of excluding foods. But if you have any dietary requirement, you’re bound to find a recipe here, as I have loads of recipes that are vegetarian, paleo, low carb, vegan, gluten free (almost every single recipe on my page is GF btw)
